FirstBuy* is a government sponsored shared equity scheme to help first time buyers onto the property ladder for the period of 2 years started in April 2011.
House hunters on an income of less than £60k and with a 5% deposit will be eligible for a 5 year interest-free loan worth up to 20% of the value of the property, jointly funded by the government and house builders. This loan can be repaid anytime or when the house is sold.
